The 38th Fuselier Battalion is raised at Charleroi on June 20 1945.

On July 6 1945 the battalion is administratively attached to the 10th Fuselier Brigade "CORTEMARCK"..

At the beginning of September 1945 the battalion is put at the disposal of the 21st Army Group,
but already a few days later,
on September 16 1945, the unit is put at the disposal of the Belgian authorities.

One company is put on guard duty at the airbase of Florennes, used by US units,
and the other companies assume guard duty at the POW Camps of CRCP Charleroi.

On December 10 1945 the battalion is stationned as follow :
Staff at Charleroi
one company at Fleurus
two companies at Châtelineau
two companies at Châtelet.

The 38th Fuselier Battalion is disbanded at Charleroi on March 31 1946.

The 38th Fuselier Battaion only wore the Formation Badge of the 10th Fuselier Brigade "CORTEMARCK".

This is confirmed by the 10th Fuselier Brigade Orders n° 11 of November 29 1945
and n° 46 of January 29 1946.

The Formation Badge was worn on both sleeves.



Belgian Rank Insignia were worn.

On the shoulder straps the Belgian Crown, for the Infantry, was  worn above the number "10".

The Infantry flash was worn on both sleeves.

On the left sleeve the white "BELGIUM" title was worn.

On the right sleeve the Belgian National Colours were worn.
